Over three days, our comprehensive Learn to Lead - Ice and Mixed Climbing course develops the skills and competencies necessary for safely leading your own multi-pitch winter climbing routes. This course is the perfect progression for individuals that are ready to lead on ice, mixed or mountaineering routes.
Before Your Course
Your EverydayClimbing instructor will be in touch one to two days before your course commences. This pre-course contact serves to introduce your instructor, confirm meeting details, and provide insight into the expected weather conditions. Our instructor are readily available to address any queries you may have, ensuring you're well-prepared for your upcoming adventure.
During the Course
Leading your own winter routes is the most satisfying and challenging climbing discipline available to British climbers. Even when building on many years of experience, heading out in winter, with its navigational challenges, avalanche risk, and fickle, condition dependant routes can seem daunting and above the remit of many climbers. Thankfully our three day course is available to assist you in building the knowledge, judgement and competencies required to make good choices and complete successful climbs.
We draw on decades of world-wide climbing and instruction experience to teach you how to be efficient, confident and as safe as possible in the dynamic, consequential and often confusing world of Scottish ice and mixed climbing
We understand that each client is unique, with varying experiences and aspirations. That's why we tailor each course to meet your specific needs. When you meet your instructor on the first morning, it's your chance to discuss your experience and goals, enabling the instructor to create a program that suits your development. Our low instructor-to-client ratios ensure you have ample contact time and the opportunity to explore technical terrain.
Here are some of the areas of development we will explore during the three days:
We base our courses in the Cairngorms or the West Highlands, which provides us with a wide range of suitable venues and ample opportunities to find favourable weather.

From the dramatic sea-stacks to the legendary Skye Cuillin, we've got your adventure covered. Feel free to drop us a line with your specific requirements, and we'll promptly respond to your inquiry.
